Subject:Re: what, a new XK-3c???

Remember that Suzuki is a Japanese company. High velocity products in the marketplace are the modus operandi of most Asian companies, regardless of what they are manufacturing. By creating new products every 6-18 months, it keeps their factories open, their people working, and it's CASH FLOW.

In the case of "Hammond" clones, creating new players of these products (new customers) takes more money and effort than upgrading existing customers. It's the path of least resistance to just keep building new products and hope that the customers will want to upgrade, as opposed to building the customer base through education and promotion.

One wonders why they don't build a product "right" the first time. But then, that would preclude them from coming out with an upgrade within 18 months or so. Of course, there are improvements and developments in musical instruments. But, just how much can you change a product like the XK-3 unless you come out with a new engine? Additionally, is it even worth a "roll-out" of a new product when the improvements aren't that great or substantial? I think the negative feedback from recent purchasers is not worth it unless the upgrade is truly significant. But then, I may think rather differently.

I'm pretty sure that Suzuki is counting on many of you to "upgrade" to this latest keyboard.

Agreed. I can't understand though why the original XK3 did not have
seperate vib/cho for the manuals. Surely it was'nt too costly to do.

If it's just a leslie sim upgrade after that, well, for me, im not
bothered about, as I am buying the lower manual and legs, taking my
castored 145 is a MUST. If i was wanting a clone with internal sim, I
have the B4 2 on my Receptor rack.

Midi improvement to me is a non seller. It's an organ and if i need a
controller, then I have better keyboards for the job in hand.

All new XK3 owners don't be too disheartened (unless it's using a
VASE 4 technology then we can all go shove our heads in a fast leslie
rotor lol)
