sounds like a problem w/your audio settings--
to use B4 effectively you need a low-latency audio driver (eg.
ASIO). You will get the hiss problem if you are using native windows
drivers w/latency set too low.

If it was a continuous noise, it could be a HW problem, but what you
are describing is almost certainly SW.
