Actually, the jazz-jam aspect is relative. Superbowl shows are choreographed down to the second; God forbid we lose out on any commercial time! Plus, they have Nipplegate to worry about ... ;-)

Tony, as far as the Stones halftime show: It sucked for totally different reasons: 1) the generally bad acoustics of the sound system used; and 2) what seemed to be a lack of coordination between performers and stage crew that bordered on anarchy. :-(
