Subject:Re: OT: Hammond A-122
For some reason when I replied to one of the messages on this thread, it didn't reply to the group. I wanted to
thanks those who gave me input on what to look for when buying a Hammond. I ended up passing on the A-122. When I first looked at the organ, many of the
keys didn't work on various drawbars. I thought it may be due to dirty contacts/age. I checked my email after leaving the guys house and got the email regarding black foam. I went back and looked and sure enough no rivet, not even a hole (as referred to by www.retrokeys.co.uk) I'm sure that this organ is dying due to black foam related issues. What a shame.
I can't thank you all enough for the quick, detailed and helpful
responses. I saved myself $875 and a lot of time and money in the future. This is a great community to be associated with. For now, the C1 will do.
Happy playing.
Brandon

I don't know whether somebody suggested that you arrange people and
equipment to move your prey immediately, stuff your wallet with actual cash,
and start out by offering $700-- a somewhat round number. Half the fun of
Hammond Aquisition Syndrome is the art of the the deal.
