Alongside all this, I have often suspected that keyboard makers made their products to sound good through headphones and not thru the main outputs. Perhaps as a way of getting you hooked on the product but skimping on the actual amped sound...my thoughts. If tapping off the headphones gives a better sound, as long as the impedance was thought out in the converter device, and no weird phasing happens, if it sounds good amped, why not?
