The Disney Generation
Old uncle Walt promised that to all of is with "Tommorowland" in the
late '50's. World's Fairs from 1939 on (maybe earlier) promised it
too. There was a lot of popular art showing the future and air-cars in
Popular Mechanics, Popular Science, Readers Digest, Look, Life, etc.
We grew up with all those images burned into our brains. It's too bad,
because all of it was attainable and still may be. We just get
side-tracked playing war and crap all over this planet and waste our
time and money doing it. Religious and political ideology has gotten
in the way of our pre-induced birthright of technology and freedom.
We need more musicians and less politicians. More singers than
soldiers, more keyboardists than hate-mongers, more drummers than
capital venturists. Hell, we could even use some more guitar players. :O)
