Subject:Looking At Motif ES Rack / Your Comments?

I am going to look at a used Motif ES rack tomorrow.

As far as I know, the Motif series still seems to be the best combination
of acoustic and electric pianos in one package ( please correct me if I am
wrong ! ).

I have had the Motif 7 for about a year, and came to terms with the acoustic
piano sound but I never did get used to the touch response of the electric
pianos. They seemed to "bark a bit too quickly. I have to hit my Rhodes
pretty hard to get it to change sound character.

My favorite sounds were the " Natural Grand" and the " GM electric piano 1".
The reason that I liked the GM piano was that I could get a fat sound out of
it. Some of the other piano samples sounded a bit thin, and GM 1 sounds
pretty warm to me.

I am hoping to get some good sounds out of this ES rack. I am going to have
a tough time finding a controller, as tendonitis affects my ability to
successfully play a full weighted keyboard. I have a Roland A 33 that I like a
little better than the Motif 7 keyboard.

I have actually heard that some people like the original Motif acoustic
pianos rather that the ES ones. Let me know if you have found this to be the case.

I would also be curious if some of you have found some decent organ samples
for the Motif ES.

Thanks
