Subject:Re: MO8 vrs S90es
Thanks aL, for the clarification...
Being an S90ES user, my experience so far has been
that the additional piano samples/voices (beyond the
Motif ES) are very playable and quite useful. They
seem to work especially well for me on ballads and
mid-tempo tunes; but for uptempo, more powerful guitar
driven pieces I often go to the bright ES rock
pianos, or some of the original Motif piano voices.
However, those pianos/ voices also work well in a
variety of styles. So a MO8 may work just fine for the
application that started this thread.
Yamaha's done a great job-voice-wise- with the whole
Motif line. With the expanded control features &
effects in the Motif XS, they've definitely moved into
a Clonewheel territory similar to that of the Roland
RD 700SX. Check out they Keyboard Mag. review in the
August '07 issue.
