Months ago you mentioned some techie aspects of Linux
and the likes, so hope would get some good tips or
hints from the serviceable guys here.

I'm the kind of person a bit obsessive for details and
see that many of mere mortals are happier just using
magazine advice or trusted consumer reports !!

I'd be happy being having more fast comfort, I'd say
almost the way in which Homer uses their credit card
:)

It's know that advertising is more confussion than
persuassion so I appreciate a lot you let me think
twice before hearing the sales pitch of music shops.

As you will imagine salesmen are everywhere and not
exactly an endangered specimen ! :)

Let me say about desktops and laptops that I love AMDs
desktops , mostly their cheap prices but when I have
to implement network, unconciously (I'm not saying
that it's better) I think first by Pentium
processors(remember that I come from the old days when
networking was something almost exclusive of Novell
being the major player in that field those days.

Now , talking specifically about sound , VST, clones,
etc. happens same as with any critical processing ,
i.e., sound on stage (or a numeric control machine
like a lathe)

I wouldn't like having to stop in the middle of a show
or a lathe work PC controlled interrupted in the
middle of turning metal work, cause Win (or still
trusty DOS) just stopped !
