There are many VST hosts to choose from (even if you're not into multi-
tracking recording just playing) that will also include effects and
other tone-shaping tools (eq's compressors etc...)
On a windows-based system, despite having good hardware to support your
VST host and VSTi's make sure your Windows is properly configured to
give you ultimate performance with the lowest latency and no hangups.
Do your homework, you'll get a killer setup at suprizingly low cost.
