Subject:Re: Billy Preston's Organ Work on CD???

I'm currently really into Aretha Live at the Fillmore West. It's a
great education in all the different kind of parts you can play
besides sustained chords. I've heard that the 'Complete VeeJay'
sessions is good too. There is a YouTube video that is an education in
itself. Check out Aretha doing Bridge Over Troubled Water with Billy
on organ. One of the cameras is focused on his keyboards and I'll tell
you - his playing is sublime. I guess to some degree what you are
trying to learn will dictate which records you want to hear. As I
indicated, I'm very interested in adding more variation to my comping
(I do mostly all-organ gigs).
