Subject:Re: "Leslie" advice
Speakeasy preamp for the leslie and or Pro145 is the way to go.

If money isn't a consideration, you could check out a Leslie 145 cabinet, but it is considerably heavier ( 150 lbs) than the MS 145, and you'd need some sort of adaptor like a Hamptone or Trek box. If you went with the MS 145 I would definitely get a Speakeasy preamp for it.
There's also the Leslie 3300 which I believe has 1/4" inputs in addition to the 11 pin -or- a Speakeasy rotating speaker (Leslie) which a superb product.
Your choices are endless.

I would appreciate some advice/input before I spend a bunch of cash.
I've had a CX-3 for awhile, playing through a MS KBR-3D. Frankly, I'm
not that impressed with the rotating horn in the MS, and generally
prefer using the stereo section of the amp with the CX-3 sim, which is
pretty good, although sometimes a little too "chorusy". My question
is whether going to a "real Leslie" will take the sound to a new
level, or whether I'll be disappointed with a small incremental
improvement (not enough bang for the buck). Specifically, I'm looking
at a MS Pro-145 as the proposed "Leslie". My usual venue is small and
relatively quiet (unmic'd). Recognizing that this is all pretty
subjective, I'd like to hear from anyone with an (experience-based)
opinion. Is this likely to be a "wow", or a "I think it kinda sounds
better"?
Thanks,
Ron
