Subject:Re: Choice of Clonewheel w/o Leslie

Hi Rick,

You really need to go and listen to them yourself. You clearly have strong preferences in your sound, and there's no magic, "Oh, you play rock and you don't like the Electro? Then you want the VK-8," kind of formula. All of the current crop of clones are pretty good, and they all have their strong and weak points, especially when a Leslie (or substitute) is out of the question. Each of them have their die-hard fans, and their detractors. While you may find a majority opinion on this list, I doubt that it will be a unanimous one. In the long run, it only matters what sounds and feels right to YOU.

To me, asking someone else to choose your instrument is a bit like asking someone to choose you a wife. You have to live with the results; your hands and ears matter more than someone else's do.

Just my $0.02 ...

Regards,

-BW
