Subject:Re: OT - Kurz Piano to go with my XK-1?

Peter,

I had one for a while that I bought to leave at the rehearsal site so
that I could ride my motorcycle to rehearsals (my preferred mode of
transportation). The unit was just fine for that application. Whether
or not it would be acceptable in a gig situation may another story.
You have the XK-1, so you don't have to worry about the organs in the
SP, which is good, because the organs were not good at all IMO. As
far as the pianos in the SP ... the EP (as I recall) was acceptable,
the Grand Piano was marginal. I suspect that this could have been
largly due to the action, which had a very light and synthy feel. So,
if you're going to use it mostly for EP or are not really anal about
the acoustic piano sound and feel, this board might work out ok for
you. It certainly was lightweight and easy to handle. Mine didn't sag
in the middle, and I suspect that if you had it in a case, handled it
gingerly, and carried an extra wall-wart with you, it would probably
be ok on a gig.

Tom
