I would have to agree...the XK1 and XK3 offer much more flexibility with
pedal tones than the VK8 or VK8m.
Since I personally don't have a clone pedal set up it is almost a non issue
( for me)
And I agree... the Hammond Suzuki stuff can sound very convincing in a lot
of settings. I gig on drums in the Portland area with Brian Harris on piano
and XK3, and he makes it sound extremely good. But there are several other
players in the Portland area who I have influenced to go with the VK8m. Some
of them really surprise me with what they come up with tone wise.
Everyone has a slightly to somewhat different thing they are looking for. To
me, the chorus vibrato quality and the overdrive capabilities make me lean
toward the VK8m.
