Subject:real rotary vs simulation

I've been reading all of the reviews of the new clavia c-1, and it
amazes me how nobody talks about what kind of speaker they are using
when they make their review.

I had a chance to play a Korg BX-3 and a Clavia C-1 side by side. On
there own (i.e. with the internal simulator and headphones), the
differences were huge. Obviously the C-1 was a huge step up. However,
when running both through a Motion pro-145/speakeasy preamp, there were
no audible differences. Given that the experience of playing a bx-3
(i.e. grabbing real drawbars, the chorus/vibrato up where it should be,
etc.) is so much more 'authentic' than playing the nord, I don't see
the justification in paying such a huge amount of money for an
instrument that sounds no different to my ears when driven through a
real rotary speaker.
