If the basic sound is as good as I heard from the Electro I am intrigued by
the portability.I too don’t really place importance on the sim.

Great point, Joan...that was something I alluded to in
a couple of recent posts (my preference for the Nord
organ 'voice' vs. Hammond X? in my current live rig,
plus the situations where B4 has done the trick even
better...); but you have brought this very important
fact right to the forefront.
Granted, I am impressed with the C1; had a chance to
spend some time with it when I was up at Gand Music
recently. For those of you who fit the 'jazz organ
type', it is indeed a 'dream come true'. Right now,
it's not the best choice for my live rig,
logistically. But, I can see a point in the future
where a C1 could fit very well into my situation. Like
Joan, I believe the features of the C1 could help
improve my organ playing: having a tool that would
better facilitate my understanding the styling/nuances
of the legacy of blues & jazz greats who came up
playing B3's, et. al.
True, Joan may be more of a blues player, and I a
musical mongrel (country rock/americana being my
flavor of the decade, it would seem...); but all of
our organ chops - both in current use and in
development - owe a great deal to those jazz and blues
greats mention above. Though players like Benmont
Tench and Steve Winwood have been of great influence
to me (to name a few...), they too have been
influenced greatly by the likes of Jimmy Smith & his
immediate contemporary'-s. I grew up playing
piano/synths, and have only been developing my organ
'voice' for a few years now; so this whole
clonewheel/organ experience has been a blast. It's
like Christmas morning each time I've recently gone to
the studio and see the B3/122 waiting there...
BTW: As Tony discovered recently (and I've experienced
since the late 70's), Gand Music is indeed a cool
place to check all of this stuff out. Joan & Mickey
were a great help in getting me set up with my Nord
Stage 76. Thanks again to them...
