I too never liked the B4. I bought the original B4 software, and used it quite a bit. I
remember it had a very artificial, static keyclick, and the distortion/overdrive effect was
very creamy/soft - and it just didn't sound very hammond-y to me. I have a couple of cds
where the B4 plugin was used, and I remember I could identify the B4 immediatly on the
first listen. I just don't like that sound at all.
The B4II was better, but still has the same, weak basic hammond tone - and the overdrive
effect is improved but still "off". Very good percussion and keyclick though, and leslie
effect is also good.

C1 on the other hand....
It's funny, looking at some posts it seems some people are trying very hard not to like this
keyboard. Probably because they can't afford it right now, or just got a XK-3 or whatever.
(E.g. NYCane and others)
Bottom line is that the C1 is an amazing piece of music equipment, and I like it A LOT
better than the B4 plugin or any other clone I've tried for that matter.
I've had it now for 6-7 weeks, and I still get more impressed by it week after week. It does
that aggresssive rock-hammond thing sooo nicely, which I always wanted in a clone - but
never got. Clear and defined overdrive, without becoming mushy and soft - like the B4.
If you like the aggressive "rock"-sound and don't use a leslie most of the time, the C1 is a
major upgrade from the Electro73. Trust me on this...
And, yeah the keyboard action is just perfect (for me anyway).

I don't have any real experience with the XK-3, though I think the percussion and highest
notes could have been ever so slightly meatier on the C1. I like a prominent percussion, so
I just use registrations like 76753 etc. on my C1 for just that (vs. 8884 etc.)
Anyway, the C1 sounds amazing. It inspires me greatly to become a better keyboard
player, and that is truly what matters.
