Subject:Re: XK3 to Nord? - C1 is how much ????
Strange that the topic of defection is currently posted because I
just logged on to write something similiar....after seeing that....
The Nord C1 is £1550 GBP !!!!!
A whopping £600 less than my XK3 (shortly after its Uk release)...
It's 10kg lighter... a plus for me.
Dual manual, which has always bugged me about my XK3, I feel like
it's holding back my playing and progression.
The Leslie reportedly the best there is. I use various leslies, but
there's times I don't. I do think the XK3 sim is a bit weak, even by
comparison to my old VK7...
The obvious drawback, lack of drawbars.... but did someone recently
mention a midi solution? Still would be cheapper than a single manual
XK3.
To add insult to injury, to add an XLK lower manual, £900+, plus
additional weight..... £900 for a midi controller keyboard, you've
got to be kidding...
So that just leaves sonic capability, which it's seems Nord has a lot
of advocates for....
So....
HAMMOND PLEASE TAKE NOTE, WE DONT WANT TO PLAY BIG RED KEYBOARDS WITH
NO DRAWBARS, BUT IT'S GETTING HARD NOT TO TURN TO THE DARK SIDE....
At some point practicalities (financial, technial) supercede purism.
Peace & Love
