Never tried a Nord. I have the XK-3 and even though the direct line-out isn't a perfect imitation of a B3 (it sounds a bit thin and the key click and C3 chorus are very harsh sounding, but send it through a leslie or some more tubes and it sounds stunning), it is probably the best clone, inclunding the waterfall keys with a nice "springiness" very close to a vintage Hammond and the inspiring layout.
I tried the Roland VK7 and it is far inferior (but also far older), and I heard the new Korg BX3 through a real leslie (with footswitch) during a demonstration by a very talented gospel organist in Dallas last year. The Korg sounded a little sweeter but with less "bite" than a Hammond (perhaps a little more analog-synth like).

Last year in a german mag, jazz organist Barbara Dennerlein preferred the Nord over the XK-3.

Anyways: perhaps the XK-1 is the one for you. I think it is more inspiring playing Hammond sounds on something that looks like a Hammond, even more so when it IS a Hammond.

I'm thinking of doing the above. Seems like a lighter, easier/simpler way of doing things when a Hammond sound is not the priority in my set-up. It sounds pretty beefy to me in the store but I've never used one live. I've the Korg and the Roland and I like the XK3 the best out of them.
