Subject:Hammond Xk-1 & XPK-100 bass pedals

I have just collected my new Hammond XK-1 with XPK-100 bass pedals
from
my local Hammond dealer in Edinburgh, Scotland. I must say that first
impressions ae excellent.

I was able to try both the XK-3 and XK-1 side by side before buying
and the sound quality is identical, so if you require the organ as a
second keyboard (as I do) then the lower cost option of the XK-1 is
well worth careful consideration before parting with the cash.

Minus Points - The Hammond expression pedal which is recommended (the
V20R)
appears to be a rebadged (and expensively repriced) Roland EV5 pedal
which is a poor addition to an otherwise excellent setup with good
build quality. The Hammond/Roland pedal is a rather lightweight
plastic
affair which does not match up to the solid build quality of the bass
pedals.

Having read some critical reviews of this expression pedal, I have
therefore ordered an Alesis F2 pedal at one third of the cost of the
Hammond expression pedal so will report on this when it has arived.

Any comments from XK-1 users or potential buyers welcomed.

Regards

Tim
