Subject:Re: Korg BX-3 soft case?
You're right, the Roland A90EX Owner's Manual says 60 lbs, 4 oz. I don't
have a scale to weigh it. I'm not knocking the keyboard at all (mine is
presently in pieces awaiting a pair of new transistors), but it would still
be nice to make the case bottom lighter, if I could maintain the rigidity.
As an aside, I also had some broken key weights, and Roland donated a set of
88 in an unannounced recall, while I paid the $150 price of installation.
Now the feel of the piano keyboard is amazing, which is why I'd like to make
it a centerpiece of my portable rig.
I haven't thought about stability yet, and I can see that weight would give
the rig some gravitis. I like to push the organ around a bit, but I'm
trying to develop a lighter touch to the piano. I might try to build
something along the lines of the Quik-Lok WS455, or just break down and buy
one.
