Subject:Re: Motion Sound R3-147???

Despite the fact that the R3-147 goes back almost 10 years, out of the
box it beats the pants off any electronic leslie sim on the market
today. I had one a few years back. I ended up completely tearing it
apart, and rebuilding the horn cabinet into a 4 space rack case.
Enlarging the horn cabinet, and lengthening the horn itself, and
adding a diffuser of sorts, brought out more of the traditional leslie
tone than in its original form. The lower rotor electronic sim may
need some tweaking (2 internal pots that have to be VERY carefully
tuned to get just the right sound) You may want to cut off the low
fequency at around 125-150 hz, and run the bass frequencies to a
dedicated sub.
I wish I knew where I had my audio test recordings of this project
before I sold the unit, I could've sent them to you.
But even in its original form, its a decent rack unit that I think you
would be happy with it, if you find one at a good deal ( <$600 I
would go)
