Subject:Casio 691 "Tremelo Organ"/ Casio EP's

Hi

I found a very cool sound on my 5 octave Casio 691 today. Just by mistake,
my Casio Organ ( with virtual "drawbars" ) went into tremelo mode sort of by
accident.

I love this sound! Wow. Its sort of like a slowed down chorus vibrato. The
setting I have is 806000000 , no percussion , sort of a mellow lower manual
sound. Its just very pretty and very inspiring.

I have gotten a lot of mileage out of this Casio since I got it nearly 3
years ago. I think it has a pretty cool electric piano sound and one of the
reasons I like it is that it does NOT bark easily. It is not the same as the EP
on the Casio PX 100 or PX 300..... which by the way I consider to be also a
very good electric piano sound.

The 691 EP sort of reminds me of a mix of both Wurli and Rhodes. It also
sounds very cool with tremelo.

Another favorite sound of mine is #209 flute. Casios give you a nice
acoustic bass split with any sound. I drop my bass down 2 octaves. It sounds great
with the EP's, flute, vibes etc.

If you can find a PX 100, check out the EP. When these things start showing
up cheap I might get one just for that sound ! It sounds a lot like my Rhodes
suitcase.... kind of pretty and no weird stuff in the upper octaves. I don't
own one, but I have been impressed every time I demo them.

I have used Casio organ and EP sounds in rehearsals and gotten rave comments
from other musicians. The 806000000 is about the only organ sound I use. It
sounds real nice for comping and the leslie sim sounds good on this setting.
Casio's percussion effects are not good, but some of the basic drawbar stuff
works pretty well. And it pumps some serious bass.

I am just curious if any of you other players have found good stuff in the
Casio organ settings.

Mark
