I agree completely.
In a full band situation the keyboard player MUST
stay out of the bass players range.
I know a lady that plays in a group called "Little
Big Band"
That is what they are, a small orchestra.
She always kicked pedals.
Last time I saw them thay had added a BASS PLAYER.
There she was, still kicking pedals, but they were
turned OFF.
She explained that she had played bass pedals so
long that she couldn't break the habit,` so she
just turned them off to stay out of the bass
player's way.
Great solution, don't you think???
