Subject:Re: New Speakeasy 122 Amp Modeler

Hi All,

Hope this could be understood as related to Walter and
Gene interest thread:

I quote two words from snipped paragraph ( below ) :

"modeled AFTER"

There I can't fully understand the concept , unless at
first reading as follows:

"So the modeler is 'modeled' after a Leslie with less
watts as the premise"

Let's begin from the scratch:

Under product description from shoppingcart link it
tells that the modeler VERSION being compatible with
Leslie of 11 pins has among other features:

INPUT: 11 pin pigtail
OUTPUT: 11 pin pigtail

The above let me understand that the modeler would be
modeled "BEFORE" (not after) the Leslie cab.

Seems that the mini amp with Leslie 11 pin connectors
in the clone/organ would go IN an INPUT pigtail and
after signal process, would be OUT thru a 11 pin
pigtail OUTPUT.

At first look seems that the EMULATING rig acts as an
intermediate box, performing as an emulated AO-28 /
Leslie™ signal path.

Corrections are welcome !

PROBABLY of interest ONLY FOR NON US consumers:

About the proposal of having such SE preamps upgrade ,
this is being put together as it should be something
manufactured again, sounds like very smart, but for
overseas customers that feature let those living
overseas or expats, feel green of envy not being
there, conversely within the US 48 contiguous states.

I wonder about many Canadian and European peers ,
usually participating here in the forum, if they are
concious of VAT / GST (or provincial taxes, present or
future).

Told that about a rack suggested in former thread
about mixing both 'SE old' with a 'new' (amp modeler)
all together in a rack unit.

Sorry for those members from Australia I don't know if
this is your concern also.

Guess that this Forum is anticipating the trend of a
NEED (for us or our descendants) about to see a "int'l
tax free back and forth repair/rebuilt " unless if
coming from certified manufacturers to offer certain
security to the tax law makers or Trade officials in
charge of let a country continue being competitive

Strange about of such tax topics ? hope people here
understand that in a globalized world, everybody
should have the right to have "DIY tube amp fun "
mostly when at the present people has to pay again
duties when importing things coming from other
countries (imagine of a notebook) yes that's strange
for the US average consumer but common for many other
countries where sales taxation , i.e. GST, VAT, MOM,
IVA, etc. (a long, loooong list) generally applies to
a vast majority of imported things, wort yet, usually
the taxation is focused on the goodies ! and I'm just
talking about of "audio/electronics" tariffs, not
about alcohol or cigars.

Bests,

Rafael

I've seen
it in use, both recently and going back years ago:
guitar, EP, and
organ rigs using a 'baby' Fender (or other) low-watt
tube amp as a
preamp with the output controlled into the main amp to
get the tube
overdrive sound. You can't drive the full 10 watts, in
this case,
into your main amplifier's input, thus an output
control.
So the modeler is 'modeled' after a Leslie with less
watts as the premise.
