Subject:Re: Motion Sound Pro-145
I thought I (A Newbie here) had posted a response to this question
from my own personal thoughts, but it didn't show up. I will repeat
my 2cntswrth.
I have played hammonds for over 40 years. Owned a B3 in college.
Started playing again 8 years ago. Have the XK2 and LOVE it.
Played through 145's, 147's, and a 910/converted to tube amp.
Bought a MS-PRO 145 14 months ago AND I LOVE IT. LET ME REPEAT
THAT.......I LOVE IT!
The ability to shape the tone of the box plus make minor adjustments
to the acceleration/decelaration rates and top end/slow end speeds
is wonderful! The tube preamp lets you growl without killing
everyone OR the driver. The 200 watts is awesome. The bass
response is very good even IMHO with a 12 incher. The use of sealed
solid state motors that never need belts or oiling.....wonderfull!
Top it all off, I can pick it up and put it in the front seat of my
old Buick, should I want to take her off the band truck to do some
home practicing.
The built in microphones probably don't compare to a couple of nice
SM 57s but hey, I play in a 10 piece band with horns (every
weekend). I am not using them to record.
I haven't had a single proble with it (man, hope i didn't just jinx
myself) and it GETS USED ALOT. HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT. It sounds as
good as my old 147 any day.
