I wish it were that easy. I've practically changed out all the lower
rotor parts and I still get the same results. I did however notice one
difference between the lower 2 speed motor in the 142 and the lower
single speed motor in the 44W. The single speed spins a lot more freely.
I gave the pulley a good spin and it actually took about 3-4 seconds to
stop completely. I can keep the belt a lot more loose to gain the extra
acceleration time and the rotor can still reach top speed. The slightest
bit of looseness on the 2 speed and the rotor starts to slow a bit. I
compared the pulley sizes and they're identical. I don't understand it.
I think I've done about everything to these motors except throw them out
the window.
