Great story, Peter...Indeed Casio does make more than
watches.
I used the WK-8000 for the first time at a graveside
memorial service; ran the 'board on batteries and
everything worked out well. Got a lot of compliments
on the piano sound. It does have a quite decent
dynamic range for the $$; worked nicely on the hymns
and service music.

The only gripe I have is that, for this particular
model, Casio chose not to include MIDI. Instead they
provided a USB B port to use the instrument as a sound
source for computer based composition. So, it would
seem that I can't use the the WK-8000 as a basic MIDI
controller - which is a drag if I should want to run a
module from it... If any of you tech gurus out there
have a way to make this 'board able to control MIDI,
I'd welcome the input; thanks...
