In keeping with the original discussion here, I did
have a thought to add: Take a closer look at that
Yamaha P50m. Still have mine after 10 years, still use
it a fair amount. It's the same sound source, I think,
as the P200 - as far as the basic piano sounds.
Definitely cuts, but has brightness control & on board
3-band EQ if you want to 'mellow' it out a bit. Plus,
it's a very light, rather inexpensive half rack
module. Usually can be found on-line...
