You don't need the new B3. You need the XK Pro System. I gig with that and
love it! (However, it does not come close to a real B3, but my whole rig
fits in my convertible).

So, an XK3 will cost you $1900, and the XLK will cost $1100. That's $3000
for a great dual manual clone.

Alright, up at the break of noon after a nice gig, 3rd cup of
coffee, want to introduce myself and ask a little advice.

My name is Brad and I am 49, live in southeast VA and play every
weekend in a very popular local 10 piece band. They have been
together for 38 years! (I have been there 2). I am not the
greatest keyboard player, but can fake it on the Hammond ok. I had
the B3 and 147 back in college and have the hernias and hemorrhoids
to prove it.

For the last 5 years I have played the XK2 and love it! A year ago
I ditched an old converted-to-tube leslie 910 for a new Motion Sound
Pro 145 which I ALSO LOVE DEARLY and would rather part with my
girlfriend than it! Now for the problem:

I hate just having the one tier. I ain't good enough to use the
split on the XK2 and put my left hand there slapping or chording
under a solo. It just isn't the same and doesn't feel right. I have
decided to purchase a second XK2 or an XK1 and make some sort of rig
to stack them somehow. Anyone done this? OR has anyone found a
suitable keyboard controller to be a bottom tier and midi it back to
the XK2? I have LOST my XK2 owner's manual and they don't post it
on their site.

Am I nuts (I can't afford the new HS B3 system)?

If someone could compare the XK2 (ebay about $800) to the new XK1 I
would appreciate it. I can't see why they dumped the 2 it has
really been lovely and very dependable for me.

Thanks,
Brad
