I'm sorry to say, but also cannot restrain more, that this mail and all
others related to Speakeasy products, sound like SPAM.

Just my opinion, don't shoot me!!

Asunto: [CWSG] Even UPS can't Kill my AMA

Yesterday I received my custom built AMA from Speakeasy Vintage Music
and
immediately noticed that the box left by UPS on my front porch was
damaged.
There was a 3-inch puncture hole in the outside of the box.

As Steve usually double boxes his shipments with tons of bubble wrap and
peanuts I was not too concerned. However, when I pulled the inside box
out I
noticed a another two-inch puncture in that box. After unwrapping the
AMA
from the inside box the damage was quite apparent. The right rack ear
was
bent at a 70 degree angle! It looked like they dropped the box from the
cargo hold of their airplane! Even two inches of bubble wrap could not
protect the amp from this fall!

Opening up the amp I only noticed two loose screws and a couple of tubes
that were partway out of their sockets. After pushing the tubes back in
I
fired the amp up. Voila! No internal damage!

Steve is kind enough to replace the entire amp for me after my gig this
weekend.

I wonder what would happen if you dropped an XK3 from an airplane? All I
know is that one of my band-mates dropped mine from a 40-inch table, and
even though it was in an SKB case the board was destroyed. Give me
American
engineering and workmanship anytime.

So the next time you think about complaining about the prices of
hand-built
equipment, remember this, and many other stories about dropped
equipment.
