Subject:Re: Emu B3 cheap clone update
I owned one before purchasing my Electro ... I really liked it and if you are looking for dry patches it is perfect. I'm not sure about it's response to drawbars even though I know that they can be changed so, I would assume that there is a way to assign that to a controller. In my honest opinion it is the best option for the money. Good Luck.

Subject: [CWSG] Emu B3 cheap clone update
All,
A couple of weeks ago I posted looking for a cheap clone. Many
responded privately, and thank you for all of the kind offers. Today
I purchased an Emu B3 module off of eBay. The price seemed
reasonable, so I jumped on it. I'm a little worried about it, however
- I couldn't find any mp3 demos of it online. I've done a lot of
searching in the archives, and most seem to like it. I hope I do too.
For those that know about it, some questions:
1. I know it's sample-based, but somewhere in the archives it is
mentioned that the module will respond to MIDI drawbar messages. I
don't see how this is possible with it being a sampled instrument; can
anyone confirm this?
2. I'm mostly interested in using the dry patches. Please, please
tell me they sound good. :) I'm interested in a good, solid,
uneffected attack with some meat in the tone. (Some modules soak the
sample in some kind of delay on the attack, almost as if the organ
were in a room and the mic is 6-10 ft away from the Leslie, almost
like a slapback. I hate that sound. I'm looking for good, direct
organ tone.)
3. How's the c/v?
Thanks,
Josh
