"Sugaree"??? What kind of name is THAT??? Could be worse, I suppose - it could have been his son's name...

Leon used to do a one man band show. He never really used drum tracks. Instead he had all of this "stuff" midi'ed together and he would fade it in and out using volume pedals. You can see them in the earlier picture.
He had a highhat sound he used a lot behind all of the other sounds he mixed together. I always thought it was kind of cheesey.
I believe these days Leon uses a full band. One of his daughters, Sugaree plays percussion and on occasion his son Teddy Jack plays drums. Teddy and Sugaree are really nice folks as is the rest of the band. Jackie is probably still playing bass as he has for many years.
Leon, otoh, is another story altogether.

Does he play with a full band backing him up??? If so what was the
instrumentation?? Hell with all that gear he could do the one man band
thing.

OMG! .... I got to open a show for Leon Russell yesterday and I was
shocked at his rig. I made my band members promise to never bitch
about my Leslie and double keyboard setup ever again!
