Subject:Some more sound files

Hey all,

My last band House is putting the finishing touches on their debut album. I
sadly had to quit a few months ago due to time constraints. This was one of
the last things I did with them, and I'm happy with how it sounds so far.

I used my live rig for the recording. The only keyboard I used on the
recording was my Electro 2. I ran through my Speakeasy Vintage Tube Pre,
with organ tracks going through one side into my Leslie 122 (actually a 147
coverted to 122 by Dominic Angelo back in the early 80's), and clav and
wurly running through the other side (switchable tone stack set to
"Keyboard" mode) into a mid 80's Roland JC-120. I used a Line 6 Echo Park
pedal for delay on Sweet Relief - it's a handy pedal live, I keep it sitting
on top of the Electro. Very tweakable.

Kicked Down The Ladder doesn't really feature the keys prominently, but it's
my favorite type of keyboard playing. I'm not really in to ripping solos -
I just want to be in the rhythm section and egg on the soloists! The
amazing Art Edmaiston of the also-amazing Gamble Brothers Band helped us out
with some sax parts on this one. Guitarist Mike Satawake melted some
serious face (and his amp) with the final guitar solo.

Mr. Bad Times is about as distorted as I get, tone-wise, and I was happy
with the tone I got on this one. I would have preferred to have more time
to work on these parts - my time wasn't quite perfect in a few spots and
with the percussion on, it was pretty exposed.

Sweet Relief- the organ solo was on C2, if I recall, but for the life of me,
I can't remember the drawbar registration.

Just wanted to put these up for folks curious about how the Electro sounds
through a Speakeasy Pre and Leslie. I'm open to all comments - I'm not
gigging much these days, and need to spend some serious time in the shed to
keep my chops up, so please let me know where I'm sucking!

The excellent Greg Zink, another OKC guy, is playing with House these days.
He uses Motion Sound amps, and plays a rhodes most of the time, but his
organ rig is a hoot - he built a beautiful custom cabinet for his controller
and a Voce drawbar unit (not sure which one). He can also play circles
around me.

It was a thrill playing with this band. Mike Satawake is one of the most
talented guiarists I've met. I kept waiting for him to start repeating
himself during the time I spent with the group, and I never saw it happen.
The brain-instrument connection is as complete with this guy as I have ever
seen in a guitar player.
