Subject:Slightly OT:M3 percussion problem

I recently blew the dust off my old cut down M3 and it has an
intermittent problem which I have isolated to the percussion
section. I think it's in the V8 tube ckt: There's a hum whose level
is affected by the "percussion volume" and "fast /slow" tablets.
"Percussion on/off" tablet works properly but does not reduce or
affect the hum. When I key a note (upper manual), the hum is
silenced. The "percussion cut-off" control has no effect.

Does anyone have any expirence with this problem or know who
does?
