I second that: I think it's a gorgeous feeling keyboard, its size and weight are ideal, but the hanging note obviously is a real issue for me, especially since I/we STILL can't figure out why it happens, and I've had my hands on 4 LMKs now.

The fact that I stuck with trying to fix this issue since October speaks to my desire to keep this controller, but that's over. As such, I can't in good conscience recommend it to anyone.

One thing for sure: while the LMK made me appreciate its size and weight, it really made me appreciate the Roland A90, a much more user-friendly keyboard in live performance (even if it's bigger and heavier).

Dave,
Tony and I worked together on the problem he was having with his Doepfer, which was hanging notes. After a fairly short period of time, like 1 minute or two, sometimes even less, a note would stay active and in order to clear it he would have to hit the panic button to reset it. The problem was very strange in that it never happened to my rig, which is also the same Doepfer based board. After a lot of phone conversations and file/config sharing and tweaking Tony and I met up a couple of weeks ago and he was able to reproduce the problem on my rig and well as his, although I could not get it to happen. All parties, including Doepfer are stumped. I love the board. It has great action, is pretty lite weight and never fails for me, but I would be concerned to recommend it to anyone else after the problem Tony had. I watched him play for hours while trying to isolate the problem and he was not doing anything out of ordinary to be causing the problem. I plan on using the board
until it should ever fail, as I love it.

Hi Tony:

I guess I missed your review of the Doepfer LMK4+ controller. Why didn't it
work out for you? I was hoping that, aside from the price ($1,600), it
would be the Holy Grail for piano action boards, but there isn't a dealer
near me to triy the thing out.
