Subject:RE: XK3 and Speakeasy Pre-amp
I use my XK3 into a Speakeasy Stereo Rack with the 11-pin adaptor. it then
goes into a Leslie 2101. All I can say is that there is a HUGE difference in
sound with the Speakeasy. Believe me, I have tried it both ways. Besides the
tone difference, the SE creates much more stage volume from the 2101.

I play a HS Xk3 with an 11-pin leslie cable out through a Bob Rinker
11-pin adaptor into a MS Pro145. I can thus use all the panel controls
and the expression pedal control for fast/slow/stop. I used to have a
Speakeasy Classic preamp that filled out my Voce V5, but it never
seemed to add much to the XK3 sound. I had been told, after I had sold
it, that the preamp has been sort of dialed in better to handle XK3s,
and I notice that an 11-pin through model is now being sold. Is it
worth another try? How is the best way to set it up? Anyone using an
XK3 with the preamp who can advise? Thanks in advance.
