Subject:Re: Transistorized pieces of.... gear
I own two 122s, a 147, a 760, a B3 and several clones ( V5, Nord Electro,
etc.) and when I get a gig that warrants the B3, my Leslie of choice is
the 760. It sounds awesome with my B3. If it's all about the 'look',
I'll take the two 122s, but I have more headroom with the 760 than the
pair of 122s. I've seen Joey play an A100 with a 760, and that's what
convinced me to give the 760 a try. Of course, with Joey behind the
console, anything sounds magical, but I agree, if you have to drive into
heavy distortion just to be heard, that's not a good thing. I can always
be heard without distortion when I use the 760. Of course, YMMV.
Cheers, Ken
