Each clone-leslie has its own characteristics. I prefer a 90* spread
on mic'ing a real leslie (my taste) so a lower setting (about 25%
value setting in general ----vk8 is an exception) should do nicely.
BUT like a few have said, some linier phasing artifacts may garble up
the sound. I find that cutting out the lower freqs below 800hz on one
channel clears that issue up nicely. The lower rotor in mono (if
desired) is usually mic'd mono (single mic) having 2 virtually-placed
mics on the horn, gives more of the phase effect that makes some
clone-leslies sound more "real" (Electro for example, sounds
INCREDIBLE in mono if done right) but the key is to run one channel
full frequency range, and the other channel with a significant low
end cut(800hz and below) then mix together.
The result for most clones, should satisfy just about anybody.
