Subject:Re: Stereo clone into mono amp
Why don't you use a second amp, plug one channel into each? and
voila! Stereo!! It's not hard. If you have a PA at practice run one
channel into the pa through a direct box and the other channel through
your amp. That way you preserve the integrity of each channel rather
than mixing them, and you don't have to buy your own PA system on the
strength of an internet theory just so it appears to you that the unit
sounds ok. Plus you have your own channel as a monitor. I always run
mono now, but I'm running the organ through a Motion Sound 145. When I
used a Nord Electro the two amp, or PA one amp trick worked for me.
When the Electro acted up in a live situation due to its inability to
play piano in mono, I used the dummy plug trick and then put it up on
eBay. I think the perceived mandatory stereo thing is a liability if
that's the way a clone works. Just my experience.
