Subject:RE:Korg CX-3 Strange TOM!!
Tom,
I had bought a used CX-3 ver.1 (w/lip) pretty cheap ($1000) hear at the local neighborhood Guitar Center in LI,NY. They had 3 for used forsale and I had sold mine for an XK-3 but I missed the CX-3 weight and action (and sound to some degree) for smaller gigs without a Leslie or Motion Sound. I bought the cheapest one they had after an initial test in a noisy keyboard sales room through a KB-350. I didn't notice it in the store but after 3 min. and really getting into it at home I heard something that was very similar to what you have described though I cannot account for the exact drawbar or harmonic of the phantom tone. It did seem to happen in that range though as you describe( a 6th above middle C +1 octave) There seemed to be a slight ground hum in the background of the extra tone also as I recall (your buzz maybe). I brought it right back and got a refund.

Subject: Korg CX-3 Strange Sounds
I have a Korg CX-3 that I just noticed something weird on -- when I
play a high "A" (a sixth and an octive above middle C) and the 16
drawbar is pulled all or most of the way out, and when playing a
harmony like a C above it (a third), I get a harmonic buzz that is an
F about an octave or two lower. It doesn't happen when I push the 16
drawbar all the way in, or if I lift the C and only play the A.
Any ideas?
