Its more of a "retro" sound upgrade rather than a distinct departure. JBL's
are great guitar speakers if you're playing pedal steel, but a celestion or
jensen seems to fit the bill for those wanting a vintage sound. Again, its the
idea that the original had a sound even though it was a cheaper speaker and some
look for that sound. Eminence is a good cheap speaker. Jensen "bell" speakers
now go for $$$ and they were original issue in juke boxes. I also had an
experience with filling a 4x12 marshall cab with eminence, and got rid of them
looking for celestions. its all in the ear....
