I was using a yamaha P-80, grand piano #1 patch, in stereo. On the K4,
the highs were great. As I said, they even sounded good off axis, on
the floor. Much better than the JBL's. I think the issue with the
bottom is twofold: one, the single woofer may be giving the usual
phase problems when running stereo pianos in mono. (ALL piano makers
should make a mono stage sound set!) Second, the port is a slot at the
bottom. I can't help thinking that larger round bass ports sound
better. I miss the rumble from my kbr3d.
