I use an original Fantom
bought used 'mint' for $750 and added SRX Ultimate keys and SR-JV80
sessions expansion boards, since it will take one SRX and two SR-
JV80's. Then I have my VK8M set up and velcro'd to the top of the
Fantom's

Which Fantom is it? I know there are quite a few models up through the X
model out now. I just got a used Motif ES and I'm not happy with the organ
sounds at all, even after I purchased and downloaded two voice libraries. I've
only had it 13 days and I can return it for a few more days, but
unfortunately I think its going back. I know it has a ton of stuff and you need to
really learn it, but it just didn't work well with the band in practice and
tonight at a gig. (I'm just getting ready to go to bed at 4:30am.) I play classic
rock and while having 1000 sounds is nice, I rarely use more than a dozen
besides good organ sounds.

I'm thinking maybe a V-760 with some expansion cards. I'm just struggling
with the Motif ES and miss my good Hammond sounds. I know the VK8M rocks.
Tried that out at the store and A/B'd it against the Nord Electro. I actually
liked it a bit better.

So, my thoughts tonight after the gig. I may be packing the Motif for a
return trip to GC.
