Subject:Re: cx3 problem. the controller unit stops working

Hi Berge,

It sounds like the CX-3 may have to go in for repairs. :-(

There are two microprocessors and their associated circuitry in the CX-3, and I believe that one of them controls the display and most of the knobs, switches, and drawbars. There is an outside chance that the problem could simply be loose connections in one of the ribbon cables, but the fact that it works for a while (until it warms up) is pointing towards bad component(s), not loose wires. Besides, I wouldn't consider getting to all the cables inside a CX-3 as a DIY project, unless you are a repair tech yourself. A lot of screws to remove, a lot of cables to get at, a few opportunities to touch mains voltage.

Regards,

-BW
