Subject:V5+ in line expression box
I'd like to put in a word about my V5+. I have a VK-77 which I run through a
122 Leslie. I play bass (keys and pedals) and do a lot of jazz and blues. I
use the VK as a controller for the V5+. I'm happy with the sound, and I
essentially have a new organ for the price of the V5+. I was initially
bugged by the fact that the Voce V5+ does not have expression. This is a
real drawback, especially if you're playing bass. Dave Amels was nice enough
to steer me to a schematic of a circuit that would solve the issue. I tried
to make the circuit and put it in a box, but due to my lack of experience in
electronics, I was never able to get it to a professional of performance
level. Then, I had a tech here in town build the thing for me. Now it works
great. Here is his email address for anyone else in a similar situation.
(Note: The original circuit called for battery power. I had him put in
transformer instead. I highly recommend this.)
His name is Chris Boland. You can reach him at chrisb@got.net. He's in the
Santa Cruz, California area.
