I had a VK-7 and can understand where you're coming from. I sometimes wish I had the VK-7 and the $ difference instead of my current XK-3.

They are somewhat different. To its credit the VK-7 had a good sound of its own and good Leslie sim.

Don't forget even the vintage consoles can sometimes get you tired of Hammonds chorus or vibrato or the squiggles of a pair of real Leslies. And their not portable.

Enjoy!- you've got a good unit with things laid out well.
