How long do you want it to work for?
The huge advantage of vintage (besides the absolute best sound) is its
simpler electromechanical technology. Some of the earliest Hammonds
out there still running strong are almost 70 years old. They have been
able to stay running because they are simple enough to repair.
The chances of a HamSuz clone organ being able to be repaired in even
10 years are faint. The specialized custom chips in the unit can only
come from HamSuz, who if they are still in business, will already be
several generations past where they are now. Will they continue to
stock parts for an old technology? Who knows?
Then there's resale value. HamSuz can only go down, vintage Hammonds
can only go up.
Now if portability is the overriding concern, HamSuz probably has a
better solution.
