Subject:Re: EVB3 vs. B4 II - For Steffan

Hi Steffan!

First let me tell you the EVB3 is excellent. I've been praising this
plugin on various forums ever since I got logic 7 pro and a mac. I
use a mac laptop as a sound module. In fact I went the mac-route
solely because of the EVB3 plugin. It's hands down the best, and THE
ONLY hammond emulation that can do rock sounds satisfactory for me.
Playing Keith Emerson's compositions sounds brilliant with the EVB3.
(Other hammond clones lacking definition, clarity and punch.)

My advice is please include the different keyclick modelling you
spoke of on the EVB3. Macs are becoming way more powerful now with
intel cpus, and I really think you should go more maximum sound
quality/authenticity instead of cpu-efficiancy. There are so many
dull plug-ins out there. The EVB3 is really one of very few that is
actually inspirational to work with. At least you could make the
most cpu-intensive features optional (on/off switch).

Also, could you make it possible to get percussion on both manuals,
for rock-stuff like Tarkus with a left-hand ostinate. Using two
EVB3s simultaniously sounds "too clean" (it lacks the interaction
between high and low notes). Playing everything on the upper manual
makes the right-hand notes sound very dull. I'm pretty sure I read
somewhere that Keith Emerson had one of hammonds modified to include
this feature.

Maybe even try to make more tube overdrive options and sounds. The
B4 II overdrive is very warm and authentic, but I miss the more
defined and "clear" sound of EVB3.

Do EVB3 use internal oversampling? That would be a great way to
possibly improve soundquality even further (esp. for
distortion/overdrive?). It could be an optional feature, to be
turned on/off.

Anyway, thanks for reading.
EVB3 is my favourite plug-in to play as you may have noticed, being
a huge fan of 70s fusion/jazz/progrock. :)
Please continue to improve it and enhance it with new
sounds/features!
